Heart Attacks #1 And #2

#1 My catcher, Sean Murphy, strains his oblique in his first game and goes on the IL. I have to pick up Elias Diaz to catch for the next few weeks. Hmm... 

#2 Without making a single start, Eury Perez ends his season with an elbow injury, which will require Tommy John Surgery. Luckily, I have a lot of good pitchers in my IL slots, so my pitching should be fine once they heal, but for now, I'll have to replace Perez with Reid Detmers. 

On the bright side, I made a good trade with one of the other teams. I swapped three pitchers (Michael Wacha, Triston McKenzie, and pickup Logan Allen), plus an injured Nate Lowe, for Yandy Diaz and Isaac Paredes, solidifying my offense for the time being. The trade left me with two empty spots on my roster, so I added John Schreiber and Giovanny Gallegos as free agents. I also grabbed reliever Ben Joyce (who reportedly can throw 105) to fill my NA spot, and dropped Will Smith to get Steven Matz. I like the way my team is looking, especially for the long run. 

Introduction

    Hello, my name is Damien, and I have been playing fantasy baseball since 2019. I won my league's championship in each of my first three seasons, but competed in two leagues last year, finishing third and fifth, respectively. I hope to do better this time around. 

    In 2024, I am competing in two private leagues with twelve teams apiece: a free league and a prize league. Here are my rosters:

In both leagues, I am trying to stock up on pitching that should heal in time for the playoffs, where I'll finally get back to being number one. 

    In week one, I will face my friend Charlie in the free league, who placed second last year. In two matches last year, we each won one. This should be a good matchup. 

    In the prize league, I face my friend John to start, who competes in both of our leagues and has also won three championships. In another clash of the titans, I hope to come out on top. 

    For this blog, I will keep track of my progress, with commentary on some of the players. Not only will this give me a good archive of my fantasy history, it should give everyone else a chance to keep track of their favorite players as their careers unfold.
